With over 30 years of professional experience in Early Childhood Education, Wendy is the driving force behind Sandcastle Early Learning Center. Since joining our team in 2007, she has been instrumental in shaping our center’s mission and day-to-day operations. As the Director, Wendy leads our Leadership Team and collaborates closely with the Parish to ensure the seamless operation of Sandcastle. Wendy is the proud mother of two outstanding young men. When her eldest was diagnosed with dyslexia at an early age, Wendy immersed herself in understanding and advocating for his educational needs. This personal journey ignited her passion for helping families navigate the resources and support systems necessary for their children's success. Wendy brings this dedication and expertise to her role, helping families at Sandcastle find the services they need to ensure their children are well-prepared for their educational journeys. |
Meet Deacon Rubi, Our Parish Administrator
Deacon Rubi serves as the Parish Administrator at St. Francis de Sales and collaborates closely with the Leadership Team at Sandcastle Early Learning Center. He provides invaluable guidance and oversight to ensure the effective operation of our complex Early Learning Center. Before joining us, Deacon Rubi spent 30+ years at General Mills, bringing a wealth of experience in leadership and management. He is excited to channel his expertise into serving the Parish and the families at Sandcastle. As a parent and grandparent, Deacon Rubi understands the crucial role that families play in shaping successful adults. He deeply values the family support and nurturing environment that Sandcastle offers, believing it is essential for achieving positive outcomes for our children. |
Meet Lisa, Our Staff Development Training Coordinator
Lisa is our dedicated Staff Development Training Coordinator at Sandcastle Early Learning Center. She continuously stays updated on the latest trends and research in child development, ensuring that our staff can implement the best practices in our classrooms. Lisa plays a crucial role in keeping our team current with all educational requirements and mentors staff on their career paths, guiding them to reach their professional goals. Together with our leadership team, Lisa supports teacher aides in their educational journey, helping them gain the qualifications needed to advance to teaching roles. This commitment ensures that our programs consistently apply the most effective early childhood education policies and practices. We believe in keeping parents informed and involved. Our newsletter regularly features articles on child development and education, providing valuable insights and updates. Meet Fr. James Adams, Our Pastor
Father James Adams oversees and is responsible for both the Parish and Sandcastle Early Learning Center. Since his ordination in 2004, Fr. James has led numerous ministries, with a special passion for working with families. Fluent in Spanish from his time serving in Venezuela, Fr. Adams enjoys engaging with the diverse communities in the W. 7th Neighborhood. His ability to connect with people from various backgrounds enriches his pastoral care and enhances the sense of community at Sandcastle. Fr. James is a familiar and beloved presence at our center. You’ll often find him guest reading to the children, bringing stories to life, and offering guidance to families as they navigate the joys and challenges of raising young children. His dedication to fostering strong family connections and supporting our community is at the heart of his ministry. |
