Our Philosophy
Founded in 1981 by the Sisters of Notre Dame, Sandcastle views early childhood education as a critical Mission in shaping the future of our society for the better. We are proud to serve multiple GENERATIONS who have come up through Sandcastle and understand the foundation it has established in their lives! Sandcastle works with ALL types of families and understands that each child has unique needs to reach their full potential.
In order to establish a positive self-concept, we believe each child needs:
We believe in helping each child grow:
Sandcastle Early Learning Center is a Christian-oriented center where basic Christian and social values are experienced. Children from all races, creeds and religions are welcomed. We believe that each child is unique, and we will attempt to meet his / her individual needs. We consider children's family relationships to be primary in their lives. Our goal is to honor each child's family and find ways to work together as partners for the good of the child. We are committed to providing children with a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment that supports their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. We realize that our interactions with children have a profound influence on their development and learning. Early childhood research shows that young children learn primarily through play. Play is an essential part of childhood. It offers the freedom children need to try out new ideas, practice developing skills, and imitate adult roles. It allows children to learn social skills and develop friendships. Sandcastle Child Care promotes the development of the whole child through play and we are committed to curriculum that implements this developmentally appropriate practice. |
